Browse for the Cause is an application that happens to claim it donates your purchase proceedings to charities, but it comes bundled with a toolbar and changes your browser’s home page to search.snap.do if you install the Express version of Browse for the Cause app. It mimics the name of Browse for a Cause add-on that is a legitimate product for Firefox. This application has adware and browser helper object features due to the way it behaves when it gets installed on your PC.

Browse for the Cause app is available at browseforthecause.com, although keeping in mind that it comes with a list of search engines and toolbars, it is very likely that you can download it bundled with freeware from third party websites as well. Either way, Browse for the Cause informs you about the oncoming installation – you can choose between Express Install and Custom Install. Express Install is “recommended” and naturally, a lot of users do end up install the full version of this app, because it is faster that way, and one can go through the process automatically. However, after the Express Install, your search engine and home page is changed to search.snap.do, and you also install Internet Turbo Toolbar that is related to snap.do onto your browser.

What is more, you need to enter your email for Browse for the Cause to work fully. The app affects Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer, but there seems to be no effect on Google Chrome. Users should not mix up between Browse for A Cause and Browse for The Cause, because the latter one is a shady application that tampers with your browser. It is not a computer infection, but search.snap.do does display various commercial advertisements, you would better be off without.

Thus, it is in your best interest to remove Browse for the Cause from your PC. This way you would avoid getting infected with malware or prevent a leak of personal information. Follow the instructions below how to restore your default browser settings.
