We regard Securor Browser as a potentially unwanted program, because there is almost no information regarding its developers and its origins in general. You might want to remove this browser, because it displays questionable commercial advertisements. Securor Browser looks almost exactly like Google Chrome. Of course, that is not surprising, since this browser is based on the Chromium open-source web browser project. However, being based on the Chromium platform does not render a browser immune to scrupulous investigation, because untrustworthy entities are happy to deceive users with seemingly reliable software.

Securor Browser is not malicious per se. However, it has a built-in ability to render potentially unreliable third-party advertisements. We have found that this browser will inject advertisements mainly on online retail websites, but might do the same on other pre-picked websites as well. We have observed that this browser can display coupons and banners. However, you can distinguish its advertisements by looking for a label that reads “Powered by Securor Browser.” We have been able to acquire Securor Browser’s Privacy Policy at Apps-city.org/privacy-policy, and we will go over the most relevant sections that will be of interest to you. Let us start with this quote: “The fact that we link to a website or present a banner ad or other type of advertisement is not an endorsement, authorization or representation of our affiliation with that third party, nor is it an endorsement of their privacy or information security policies or practices.” It seems that the owners to not trust their business affiliates to present content that is safe. So we do not think that you ought to be using this browser. However, there is more.

Securor Browser is programmed to collect non-personal information about your browsing habits. Data regarding “pages of our Site that you visit, the time spent on those pages, information you search for on our Site and by using the Application, access times and dates, usage statistics for your use of the Application and other statistics” will be collected analyzed and used for commercial purposes. The privacy policy also states that the browser’s owners can sell non-personal even personal information about you. Personal information in not collected automatically. The owners get it only if you provide it yourself by contacting them. The privacy policy also states that you will be sent emails from the developers. Spam mail is very annoying so you might want to unsubscribe from their newsletters.

One last thing that we must mention is the contradictory clauses within the Privacy Policy that regard information sharing. “We may share aggregated information that does not include Personal Information and we may otherwise disclose Non-Identifying Information with third parties for industry analysis, demographic profiling and other purposes” and “APPS CITY LIMITED may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of its assets, including your Personal Information, in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets or in the event of bankruptcy.” So the company can actually share your personal information on certain conditions. We think that it is dishonest and intrusive, and this application does not deserve to be on your computer.

So if you want to remove Securor Browser you should follow our manual removal instruction located at the bottom. This browser does not seem malicious and works rather well, but the fact that it displays commercial ads collects and sells information damages is reputation. If you want to continue using this browser, then by all means keep using it. But we think that you will agree that Securor Browser is an unreliable browser.
