Pc Opticlean is a system optimization tool that looks like a useful program that can improve your system’s performance. There are a lot of tools like that out there, and all of them will try to convince you that you cannot live without them. On the other hand, if this application entered your system without your permission, perhaps it would be better to remove Pc Opticlean for good. What’s more, our security team says that this program is hardly reliable and even if you did consider acquiring it, it would be better to improve your system’s performance in some other way.
There were times when we used to categorize such programs as rogues. By “rogue,” we mean programs that pretend they want to do one thing, but in reality, they are trying to accomplish something else. In a sense, the same applies to PC OptiClean because the program presents itself as something you need, but it seems that its main purpose is to make some money. Of course, it would be only natural to pay for a useful service, but the question is whether the service provided by this application is any good. To figure that out, we will take a look at the program’s official homepage via pcopticlean.com.
Just like most of the regular programs, Pc Opticlean comes with a homepage that has a working download button. There is also a lot of information on the program. For instance, it says that Pc Opticlean helps with error messages, DLL/EXE issues, slow boot time, and sluggish PC behavior. It says that as far as the sluggish PC behavior is concerned, the computer can “become bogged down over time with remnants of old programs, junk from failed uninstalls, a bloated system registry and much much more.” While this is not false, computer security experts point out that it is possible to delete junk files and registry entries individually.
What’s more, when we downloaded and installed Pc Opticlean on our system, the application has found a lot of issues and errors, although the system itself is cleaned regularly. So it is possible to assume that the program may try to make the situation look at lot worse than it is. That would push users into purchasing the application because the free version can only scan your computer. It cannot remove any junk files or fix issues that it “locates” on your computer. But that is not all, when we tried to purchase the application, the site we were redirected to did not show the price for the premium package. Instead, we had to enter the amount ourselves, so it is rather suspicious. Not to mention that there is also another “tick” box that bills you a few tens of dollars more for a feature that may not even exist.
The good thing, on the other hand, is that it is easy to remove Pc Opticlean from your computer because you can do it via Control Panel. Also, please pay attention to other unwanted programs that could be on the list, too. After all, if you installed this application accidentally, there is a very good chance that it came bundled with freeware, so there might be more unnecessary apps on-board. For full security coverage, please consider investing in a licensed antispyware tool.
