MySportTab is promoted as a tool allowing the user to “find the latest sports information online and enjoy Web Search from one Free Chrome New Tab!” Our specialists say the provided features might disappoint the user after installing this extension since you can create a similar tab and get the news related to sport just the same without it as well. To be more precise, it appears to be the application provides a simple search engine and a toolbar with a couple of links to web pages related to sports, which you could bookmark with your browser and reach just the same without having to keep MySportTab installed. In fact, this is precisely what we would recommend since while researching this plugin we found out it might show untrustworthy advertising content. To learn more about it, we encourage you to read the full article. Additionally, we offer our recommended removal steps located at the end of this text, so if you decide to erase this plugin feel free to use them.

First of all, it is crucial to mention the application is classified as a potentially unwanted program. It means users may want to get rid of it even if they installed it themselves. Usually, it is because of some undesirable software’s qualities. For instance, in this case, MySportTab could change Google Chrome’s default search engine and new tab page. Instead of usual search engine and new tab page, the affected browser might start loading mysearch.com. Our specialists found out it is a modified search engine, which means it could show additional third-party advertisements together with search results. If the potentially unwanted program displays such ads, you should be aware they might come from various third parties, and we doubt the application’s creators review it to make sure it is safe to interact with. In other words, there might be no guarantees the ads would distribute only reliable content and so some part of it could be dangerous. For example, MySportTab third-party ads may lead to scam websites, sites containing malware or distributing other untrustworthy software alike, and so on.

Moreover, another thing we would like to discuss is the potentially unwanted program’s distribution. According to our specialists, MySportTab might be spread with irritating pop-up advertisements. Such ads could be displayed while visiting unreliable file-sharing web pages; however, they might also be displayed by other potentially unwanted programs installed on the computer. Therefore, if you suspect it could have been displayed by some doubtful tool located on the system, it would be advisable to scan the computer with a reliable security tool as fast as possible. Also, to stay away from plugins like this one the next time we would recommend spending more time on gathering information about tools before you install them, e.g., the user should learn more about the software’s developers, read reviews from IT specialists, and of course download the chosen tool from a reliable web page and not some torrent or another file-sharing site.

Fortunately, it is not particularly difficult to erase the potentially unwanted program. If you decide to follow our advice and delete MySportTab, there are two options to eliminate it. For starters, users who prefer deleting it manually could follow our recommended removal steps located a bit below this text. The other way to get rid of it permanently is to scan the computer with a reliable security tool, wait for a report, and then click the removal button to erase all detections at once.
