MyBrowser is a program that supposedly can provide you with reliable services. As the name suggests, it is a web browser, and our research team has found that it was created using the Chromium engine. SuperBrowser, Kometa Browser, and plenty of other suspicious, potentially unwanted programs were created using this engine, and many of them are considered unreliable. Even though we cannot tell you what to do, we hope that this report will enlighten you, and you will be able to make a decision about whether or not to delete MyBrowser from your browsers. In this report, you will find answers to the questions regarding the activity and the removal of this potentially unwanted program. If you believe that we have not answered all questions, please leave them in the comment box below.
According to the latest research, MyBrowser is a clone of such infamous PUPs (potentially unwanted programs) as CrossBrowser and BoBrowser. In fact, it was found that MyBrowser could be introduced to you as CrossBrowser if you download it bundled with other programs. If unfamiliar programs were installed onto your operating system along with this PUP, we suggest inspecting them. In the worst case, you will have to delete these programs, and, if you do not inspect them, you might be oblivious to this. Unfortunately, The MyBrowser Authors – the creator of the suspicious program – might work with unreliable software distributors and other unreliable parties. For example, MyBrowser represents plusnetwork.com as its homepage, and we recommend removing this search tool as well.
An experienced user will be able to tell that plusnetwork.com is an unreliable search provider right away simply because it shows flashy banner advertisements and sponsored search results. Whether you are offered an error fixing tool, a suspicious app, access to an online game, or some other service, you have to be careful. As you might know, advertising networks are often exploited to showcase misleading ads, and we do not want you interacting with that kind of advertising. Potentially unreliable ads could show up even if you replace plusnetwork.com with the preferred search provider if MyBrowser comes bundled with adware. Our researchers have found that this PUP can be installed along with Crossrider adware. Even though we know many ad-supported programs that were created using this engine and that require removal, including Premier League ScoopsZone or Lights Cinema, it is most likely that the adware installed along with this PUP will be named “MyBrowser.”
Now that you know all about MyBrowser, you need to decide whether you want to keep it, or you want to delete it. If you decide to get rid of this PUP – and this is what we recommend – we advise uninstalling it first. Note that the removal instructions below might help you remove MyBrowser-related adware as well. Of course, we do not know what kind of malware could slither in along with this PUP, which is why we do not know what kinds of removal methods you will need to apply. If you have never dealt with this kind of software before, our suggestion is to employ an automatic malware detection and removal tool that can eliminate all threats automatically.
