MyAppsCloud is supposed to be an application updater that alerts you whenever updates are available for download. We have put this software to the test to see whether it delivers its promises. Unfortunately, it failed to be a reliable application. It also exhibited some traits that made us label MyAppsCloud a potentially unwanted program (PUP). Having this PUP on your computer might hold some system security risks. If you do not act in time, it is possible that you will have even more issues. Removing MyAppsCloud is your best chance to keep your computer secure. Read our full article to find out more about this PUP and learn how you can step up against it.

When you want to download a new application, it is worth researching it first. By googling free software, you can save yourself from some later headaches. But let us say you find MyAppsCloud’s website, myappscloud.com, and overlook all the “remove MyAppsCloud” pages among your search results. You visit the website and, wow, you get confused. Why? Because your screen is filled with at least three separate third-party ads and in the middle, in a smallish window, you can find a “Download Now” button with some promotional lines. We also need to mention that there are some other panels, such as “Top Downloads” and “Recommended Apps”, which do not seem to be working at all. The server may be down? Well, we do not know that for sure, but it is a wee bit suspicious anyway.

The question marks keep emerging in your head as you go on and click on the download button. If you have an antimalware program installed and running in the background, you may not even be able to download this PUP. The moment you reach the “Save File” button with your mouse cursor, your security tool will alert you that the installer executable file is a Trojan horse. Oops! Now, that is a shocker. Although we are not saying that MyAppsCloud is a dangerous Trojan infection, that is what an active malware removal tool may detect. Certainly, it does not make this application any more reliable. But, if you do not have this kind of protection, you may end up installing this suspicious software. These traits so far have made us already believe that it is best to remove MyAppsCloud, not to mention that it might really have some hidden “skills” to harm your computer, even if indirectly.

As you may have guessed, not too many users find the official website, but still a lot of them have this PUP on their systems. How? Well, MyAppsCloud is mainly spread in freeware bundles packed with malicious software installers; that is how. Does that sound scary enough? We certainly think so; because, if you install such a bundle, you simply multiply the threats that may endanger your system security and your privacy. If you want peace of mind, you had better run a full system scan after deleting MyAppsCloud to make sure you know exactly what is hiding on your computer.

Once this potentially unwanted program is installed, it makes sure that it autostarts with Windows every time you restart your machine. MyAppsCloud also has the capability to display third-party advertisements, including annoying pop-up ads. These ads are not without risk, of course. Clicking on them might take you to unsafe websites. This PUP claims to be an app updater that also helps you to discover new apps. However, we have found that although it scans your system, it will not update or warn you to update all of your applications – maybe some of them. Why would you keep a totally unreliable program on your computer? Why not find a proper free tool that does not have such issues?

Here is what you can do, if you decide to remove MyAppsCloud. You can go for manual removal via Control Panel as it has an uninstaller, but you need to know that there still may remain some minor leftovers. That is why we recommend installing a reputable antimalware program that will automatically eliminate all sources of threat on your computer and safeguard it from similar intrusions.
