When you need a lot of gadgets at your fingertips, you might think that such applications like My Utility Box can help you with that. However, our research team suggests that this browser extension is a potentially unwanted program that may exhibit a list of undesirable behavioral patterns. What’s more, it is possible that you installed this program on your computer accidentally. It would be for the best to remove My Utility Box from your computer because you can never know how this could end. Check out the removal instructions below because each browser requires a different removal process, but do not feel discouraged: it is not complicated to delete this extension.

It is important to note that My Utility Box is a not a malicious infection. Potentially unwanted programs can be downloaded directly from their official homepages. The homepage for this program can be accessed via myutilitybox.co, but it might seem like the website is nothing much. It does not have flashy pictures or a lot of information about the extension. It just offers you to add My Utility Box to your browser. It also says that with the extension on your browser, you will have instant access to a free calculator, translator, and so on. The extension should also provide you with weather updates, planning tools, and it is “100% free & easy to use.”

However, despite the fact that this extension is available out in the open, it is very unlikely that users who complain about this plugin would have downloaded it directly. Such freeware apps often get distributed in bundles when several programs are bundled together in one package. Users download such packages from file-sharing websites. Our research shows that sites like filewon.com, filewin.com, malavida.es, or descargar.es could be part of the freeware distribution network, and they might host a lot of third-party installers that carry My Utility Box and other unwanted applications. The bottom line is that you can avoid installing such applications as long as you are attentive during the installation process. Also, you would do yourself a favor if you get programs only from their official websites.

Some users might say that there is nothing wrong with My Utility Box because the extension does seem to provide a lot of useful tools. However, our problem with it is that it can be rather intrusive. Let us not forget that this program also modifies your browser’s settings, changing your homepage and default search engine. This modification should help the extension provide you with relevant information, but at the same time, it could also spam you with commercial content. And some of that content could be corrupted, too.

It is strongly recommended that you remove My Utility Box from your system because the extension could slow down your browser and eventually expose you to dangerous content. If you do not want to do it on your own, you can acquire a powerful antispyware application that will do the job for you automatically. Not to mention that it will also take care of other unwanted applications (if present), at the same time safeguarding your system from harm.
