Musix Search is a Google Chrome extension that security experts identify as a potentially unwanted program. You should not install Musix Search, and if you already have, remove it immediately, because it will fail to provide you with any relevant features. Officially, this program is promoted as a web search that enables you quick access to music and other content. In practice, when it enters your computer, it switches your default search engine to Musix Search. So, as you can see, this program does not have much to do with music. In fact, all this program does is provide you with a new search engine that you probably do not need in the first place.

When you enter a search query in the address box of your browser, you will be instantly redirected through the hijacker zooms.searchalgo.com to the Yahoo search. Musix Search is rather aggressive in making sure that you use the promoted search engine, so, if you want to go back to your previous choice, you will need to remove this program at once. You should also bear in mind that this program might also modify your search results in order to promote specific third-party links. Thus, as long as this extension is on your web browser, you will not be able to receive the best search results. On top of that, it is possible that clicking on the featured links might also unexpectedly redirect you to third-party sites you would avoid otherwise due to their suspicious nature. Musix Search might be the cause of security-related issues that you might be exposed to via the third-party links, so remove this potentially unwanted program to make your web surfing more secure.

Security experts also inform that Musix Search reaches computers bundled with malicious software, which is another reason why you should remove this program. Licensed software always seeks to reach users via the most direct distribution channels (e.g. official sites), while unwanted and potentially dangerous programs hide themselves in software bundles. Generally, these software packages are offered on questionable third-party download sites. Thus, if you do not want Musix Search on your system with additional malicious applications, you should keep away from unreliable file-sharing sites.

Musix Search is also offered on Chrome Web Store, but, unfortunately, that does not make this program more trustworthy. We recommend that you remove this extension and choose more secure applications that can help you find music. You can remove Musix Search from your Google Chrome like any other extension. After the successful removal, you will need to restore your default search provider manually. In order to do this, follow our removal guide below. We also recommend that you complete the removal by scanning your computer with a legitimate antimalware program.
