What do you have to do when suddenly your default homepage changes? First, you should not panic. There is always a reason this happens, and if your new start page is Mobsearches.com, it means you have a browser hijacker on-board. A browser hijacker is a type of program that will modify your browser settings with the intention to redirect you to associated websites. Everything is done for financial profit; although you can rest assured that this hijacker will not steal your credit card details. Needless to say, that is no reason to keep it on your computer. The sooner you remove Mobsearches.com, the better.

Mobsearches.com must have entered your computer just like MyLuckyPage123.com, MyBeginning123.com, MyLuckySite123.com, and many other browser hijackers from the ELEX group. Whoever is developing those products, they use the same pattern for all, so at least that helps us to remove Mobsearches.com from the target systems without much difficulty. However, the sheer number of such intruders raises quite a few security concerns. Although browser hijackers may not be the most extreme security threats, they could still be misused by malevolent third parties. Hence, to protect your system from harm, you need to terminate every single unwanted application.

Aside from removing unwanted apps, you should also know more about their distribution. The thing is that this browser hijacker did not just enter your PC uninvited. You must have installed it yourself when you downloaded some freeware app. The ELEX family hijackers come bundled with freeware applications, and users download them very often. They tend to install freeware apps from file-sharing websites without any second thought. However, it is important to note that third-party installers tend to bundle several programs together, and if you are not attentive enough during freeware installation, you may end up with the likes of Mobsearches.com on your computer.

Upon the installation, Mobsearches.com will change your homepage settings on Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer. Then, the hijacker will start collecting information on the websites you visit and the things you search for on the web. Not before long, you will find yourself constantly exposed to modified search results that will seem to be catering to your likes and preferences. You should not click anything that is delivered to you via Mobsearches.com because the links might redirect you to dangerous websites. That is not the hijacker’s fault, however. The thing is that the program does not review the third-party content it promotes, and so it could be misused by cyber criminals to advertise their malicious sites.

At this point, it is your job to protect yourself and your system from such exploitations. Please remove Mobsearches.com right now and then run a full system scan with the SpyHunter free scanner. You have to understand that this hijacker could be just one of the many unwanted applications that have recently entered your PC. While manual removal might prove to be too tedious, you can always rely on a licensed security program that will make sure your system is clean and safe again.
