Disturbicons is the name of an application that promises to enrich your browsing experience with spicy new emoticons that will shock your friends. Unfortunately, this program does not work at all, so we recommend that you remove it. Disturbicons is a mere adware-type program that will flood your browser’s screen with obnoxious commercial content. You can forget about smiles, rofls, and lols and say hello to coupons, pop-ups, and banner ads, because that is all you will get to see. There is absolutely no reason to keep this program on your computer unless you like viewing unreliable third-party content. The annoying but innocent-looking advertisements can promote unreliable software that is commonly known as potentially unwanted programs, which are usually not free. So do not jump head-first into the unknown. Do your own research before downloading a promoted application.

Disturbicons has been developed by Big Water Applications, LLC. Not much is known about this developer, but a lot of cyber security websites regard its products as malicious. This company is responsible for releasing Infoseeker, SecureWeb, and a few other unreliable applications. Note that some of its releases can be downloaded from the free software hosting website Software.informer.com. But Disturbicons is actually disseminated via borderline legitimate freeware websites using software bundles that often include unreliable toolbars. We have also found this program to be featured on its own promotional and download website Disturbicons.com. This application has no shortage of distributors. Many people may be tempted to download it intentionally or might get it with a software bundle. Either way, Disturbicons must be removed for reasons we are going to talk about next.

According to this program’s Terms and Conditions of Use, it can show advertisements that come in the form of banners, texts, in-texts, interstitial ads, pop-ups, pop-unders, and so on. There is nothing too fancy about the ads it can show. Disturbicons is able to display only the most basic forms of advertisements, so it is no different from thousands of adware applications from around the world. Unsurprisingly, the advertisements are provided by affiliated third parties that constantly change, making it impossible for security analysts to determine whether the application is safe or not.

Furthermore, Disturbicons’s Privacy Policy states that this application and its website may be used to collect information about you. The company uses cookies, web beacons, and other technologies to get their hands on information such as your domain name, browser type, viewed pages and clicked links, IP addresses, language and location information, and much more. Legitimate companies use this information to improve their services and applications, although Big Water Applications also claims to do so. Still, they state that the information will be used to assist in advertising their products on third-party websites and so on. The company may share this information with affiliates, other third-parties, and service providers, and in the event of a merger with another company or inquiry from a court.

It is clear that Disturbicons is one useless application. It is promoted as an emoticon-inserting application, but the emoticons are nowhere to be found. This program does not even have a graphical user interface. Its developers use deception to make people install it, and the application does not deliver on its promises. It only displays various unreliable third-party advertisements and collects various kinds of information about you for personal gain. This application is of no use to you, so we suggest that you remove Disturbicons as soon as the opportunity arises.
