DietRunner is one of those applications that are targeted at people who are trying to lose some weight. As it says that it can provide users with various tips and enable them to take control of the diet from the computer, it is not shocking that so many people download and install this application willingly. Of course, we are 99% sure that they see advertisements somewhere because it is not so easy to come across the official website of DietRunner. It does not really matter whether you download this program yourself or it sneaks onto your computer without permission because you still have to eliminate this program from the system. DietRunner is not a simple program; it is known to be an advertising-supported application (adware). Luckily, it can be removed from the system rather easily. If you do not know how to remove adware, you should read through this article – we are sure that you will know what to do after doing it.

Even though DietRunner claims to be a beneficial program, it has been observed that it will only load different websites for users on its main window. Users might really see websites with the useful content in front of them; however, websites which are not associated with diets might appear too. Of course, this is not the only activity DietRunner performs. It has also been observed that it might display pop-ups promoting different websites, e.g. webmd.com/drugs/index-drugs.aspx. You might also see various offers and even advertisements. Make sure you do not click on any of them because you might heavily infect your system with malicious software in the blink of an eye.

We also want to inform you that DietRunner will most likely gather and record information about you because it seeks to provide users with the relevant content. It seems that it will not gather personal information; however, there is no doubt that it will record search queries, IP address, websites visited, links users tend to click on, and other details. Unfortunately, it is known that this adware might also share those details with third parties. We do not know whether these third-party companies can be trusted, so we cannot tell you whether the collected information will not be used for bad purposes. If you want to be sure that your privacy is safe, you need to eliminate this program from the system. We are sure that you will find another more trustworthy application that will provide useful tips and install it instead of DietRunner.

As we have already mentioned, many users who are on a diet often download and install DietRunner themselves. Of course, they are offered to do that, for example, they notice an advertisement on a file-sharing or a torrent website. DietRunner is capable of slithering onto computers without permission as well. Many users do not even know that this has happened unless they find the main folder of this application. In most cases, users find these folders in %ALLUSERSPROFILE%, %APPDATA%, and %PROGRAMFILES% (%PROGRAMFILES(x86)%). DietRunner not only adds its main folder, but also creates several new registry keys, e.g. HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\DietRunner, HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{A06DB7C1-91F6-4D10-ABB6-40F85F9BC1EC}_is1, and HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\DOMStorage\www.DietRunner.com. You will not see these changes anymore if you delete this adware program from the system.

DietRunner itself can be easily removed from the system because it has an uninstaller in Control Panel. Even though it does not leave any leftovers, you will also need to find and eliminate other unreliable programs that have been installed alongside DietRunner. It has been observed that this adware usually comes together with potentially unwanted programs, browser hijackers, and other threats. If you do not have time to detect and remove all those infections yourself, you should scan your system with SpyHunter. It will do this job for you. In addition, it will protect the system from future infections that might try to sneak onto the computer.
