If you need an application that can take a snapshot of your screen, we do not recommend Advanced ScreenSnapshot to be the one, and we have our reasons. Although it may seem like a harmless program, as a matter of fact, it can still cause some system security issues. Therefore, we have categorized it as a potentially unwanted program (PUP). Since this application usually installs silently onto your system, i.e., without your knowledge, you can assume that its intention may not be the best. But we still cannot call it a malware infection because in itself it is not a high-risk application. However, indirectly, it may put your virtual security at risk, and that is why we believe that you should remove Advanced ScreenSnapshot from your system. Keeping this PUP on-board may result in increased exposure to unreliable web content, which could end badly for you. If you do not want to cripple your operating system with all kinds of malware infections, find out more about this useless application and how you can protect your computer from more serious threats.

It is always suspicious when you find an application on your computer and it does not have an official website, or any page where you could actually find information about it or download it. If you do not have a decent security tool installed and active in the background, which is highly recommended if you want to keep your computer secure, it is worth checking from time to time if there is any application on-board that does not belong there. First, you can do this by opening the installed programs list in Control Panel where you can look for any unfamiliar programs. Second, you can check the extension and add-on lists in your browsers. If you find anything that should not be there and not part of your system, you may consider removing them. However, there is always a chance that there will be leftovers such as Windows Registry entries which might reactivate the infection. That is why it is always best to have a professional antimalware program such as SpyHunter that will take care of all these nasty details and keep your computer secure at all times.

Since we have not found any promotional site for Advanced ScreenSnapshot, it only makes sense that there has to be an alternative way for it to show up on computers all over the world. That alternative is, of course, the questionable practice of software bundling. This again can be a red flag indicating that you should be careful with this PUP because bundles may be packed with malware threats, such as, adware applications, browser hijackers, and more PUPs. If you have noticed, for example, annoying third-party pop-up ads, there is a good chance that your computer has been infected with adware. But, what is even worse, we have noticed that this application is capable of connecting to the Internet without your permission and downloading further malware infections. That is even more suspicious behavior that should not be tolerated by any security-minded person. We recommend that you delete Advanced ScreenSnapshot and scan your system for other threats if you want to restore its previous level of security.

There is one thing about this PUP that is really useful, and that is its uninstaller, which makes it so easy to eliminate this threat source. If you have never uninstalled an application, please use our instructions to assist you with this procedure. But remember that your computer will not be completely clean and secure unless you take care of all the potential threats on board. And that is where a reliable malware removal tool can do its “magic.” Maybe it is time to give your PC its well-deserved protection.
