It would seem as though the developers of Cloud Security and OpenCloud Antivirus have been hard at work on their latest clone, AV Protection 2011. This malicious rogue antispyware application was never designed to be of any value to a PC, but instead to only fleece honest hardworking consumers out of their money. Despite what AV Protection 2011 would like its victims to believe, this rogue certainly does not have the ability to detect or remove any type of threat from the system as it is a vicious infection in itself.

AV Protection 2011 will enter the system using bogus online malware scanners, surreptitious browser hijacking websites and infected online flash ads, among other tactics. This rogue will hide its presence until such time that it is ready to start its attack against the PC. This usually happens by AV Protection 2011 starting a fake security scan each time the user logs on to the system. It will pretend to scan the PC’s Privacy, Firewall, the HD and the Registry. However the scan will complete in less than 5 minutes and will then report on my vicious infections such as Trojan.JBS.Ghost being present on the system. AV Protection 2011 will offer to remove these infections, but only once the user pays for an AV Protection 2011 license.

Once the fake scan completes the user will soon find him being spammed with numerous fake security messages in the form of annoying popups. These popups will report the same things as the scan, and will also spur the user on to pay for AV Protection 2011. Some of the fake alerts to be on the lookout for include the following:

svchost.exe
svchost.exe was replaced with unauthorized program.
It has encountered a problem and needs to close.
If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.
