Search.searcheasysa.com is identical to Search.watchanysports.com and Search.easysportsaccess.com, and that is not surprising considering that the same company – Polarity Technologies Ltd – stands behind them. This company has been mentioned in many of our reports because it continuously produces browser hijackers that, by the way, all look the same. Although, in most cases, these hijackers are introduced via extensions that usually have official installers (e.g., at www.easysportsaccess.com/Sports?), our researchers warn that third-party distributors could be involved as well. Needless to say, if you end up using an unreliable installer, you might find the hijacker packaged with adware, potentially unwanted programs, Trojans, bogus security tools, and other kinds of suspicious programs. Was your operating system infected with malware? If it was, you could figure it out with the assistance of a malware scanner. We offer a free malware scanner, and we strongly encourage you to install it because it can assist you before and after you delete Search.searcheasysa.com.

We have to talk about the interface of Search.searcheasysa.com. If you have installed the “Easy Sports Access” add-on willingly, you must be happy about the easy-access links that this hijacker promotes. The add-on is represented as a tool that can provide you with access to websites representing sports-related content. In reality, the add-on itself does nothing else but modifies your homepage and New Tab to represent the hijacker. This threat presents easy-access links you might expect, but that does not make it useful because, after all, you can easily access the same sites without a mediator, which, in this case, the toolbar is. In fact, it is most likely that Search.searcheasysa.com promotes legitimate links only to make it appear useful. If you think it is useful, you might decide to browse the web using its search tool, but that would be a mistake. First and foremost, this hijacker illegally redirects to search.yahoo.com. Second, it is likely to modify search results to introduce you to advertisements. Are these ads reliable? Should you interact with them? We do not know if they are reliable, and so we do not recommend trusting them.

One more thing that we believe most Search.searcheasysa.com users are unaware of is that this hijacker uses tracking cookies. They are meant to record information that, later on, could be shared with third parties. Well, this is not that surprising, as most virtual services use cookies to record data, which is also shared with undisclosed parties. What is suspicious is that your personal information could be included as well, and that is not okay. If personally-indefinable information falls into the hands of malicious parties, they could use it against you. In the worst case scenario, you could be exposed to scams that are specifically designed for you based on your personal and non-personal information. If you believe that you might have become a victim of such scams already, the protection of your virtual security should be of the most importance to you. Also, if you have downloaded any software represented to you via these scams, it is wise to scan your PC using the legitimate malware scanner to see if maybe you need to remove more threats.

Even though Search.searcheasysa.com only modifies the homepage, it is unlikely that you can get rid of this hijacker by modifying the undesirable homepage URL. This is because this hijacker is likely to be directly linked to the “Easy Sports Access” extension, and this is what you need to delete. Hopefully, once you do, you will have Search.searcheasysa.com removed as well. Of course, we also added the steps showing how to modify the homepage URL in case it stays hijacked after eliminating the extension. Also, note that you need to uninstall the application linked to the hijacker if you find it on Internet Explorer. We are sure you already know how to uninstall unwanted apps via Control Panel, but if you need our assistance, please leave a comment below. As we mentioned previously, a malware scanner is an important tool. Use it before the removal to check which threats are active, and use it afterward to check if your PC is clean. If you cannot get it clean yourself, use an anti-malware tool that can erase all infections automatically.
