Bazzsearch.com only appears as a legitimate search engine while the truth is very different. We have deemed it a browser hijacker due to its dishonest distribution tactics and, therefore, you should remove it. In addition, it is set to redirect you to other search engines that we have classified as hijackers as well, and their search results can include malicious promotional links that can jeopardize your computer’s security. On top of that, it can gather anonymous information about you to make more money. For more detailed information about this hijacker, please continue reading.

Browser hijackers are designed to include a search box and pose as legitimate search engines. They are distributed using deceptive and dishonest methods. While you can download its accompanying browser extension named Bazz Search from the Chrome Web Store that does not hide the fact that it modifies the web browser, the other distribution method makes it impossible for you to make that decision. We have discovered that its browser extension for Google Chrome is bundled with malicious installers that inject it to your web browser automatically without your knowledge or approval. Such malicious bundles are most likely promoted by adware-type software, so it is hard to pinpoint how you can avoid getting such malicious bundles on your PC because their promotional campaign is usually deceptive. For example, a software bundle containing this hijacker can be promoted as an Adobe Flash update.

Regardless of how it is distributed, the country where this hijacker has infected the most computers is Russia as it makes up more than 24 % of all visitors. The second most infected country is Indonesia with 7.9 % share of all visitors followed by the US with 3.7 % and Vietnam with 2.6 %. With such a diverse list of countries it is evident to see that thus hijacker is a global phenomenon ad its popularity continues to grow. However, this needs to stop because Bazzsearch.com is a potential security threat.

As a browser hijacker, Bazzsearch.com is designed to replace Google Chrome’s new tab page, homepage, and search provider with its address. However, here is where things get interesting because when you enter a search query in its search box and click Search, it will redirect you to Search.safefinder.com, another shady search engine that we have classified as a browser hijacker. Search.safefinder.com is a fake search engine because it uses the search algorithms of Yahoo.com to process the search queries. Research has shown that this hijacker can also redirect to another fake search engine called Search.snapdo.com. Both hijackers to which Bazzsearch.com redirects to are known to feature advertisements and promotional links. Since they come from unknown sources that are not accountable to anyone it is more than likely that they will promote shady content whose promotions can appear in the search results. We think that the three hijackers come from the same source, but we cannot prove this because there is nothing that links them apart from the obvious redirections. In any case, the promotions can cause huge problems for you because it may redirect you to malicious websites.

Bazzsearch.com does not contain a privacy policy, so we cannot be certain what anonymous information it is capable of collecting but whatever the details are we are positive that this hijacker can obtain information such as your browsing and search history, IP address, Internet Service Provider name, browser information, software and hardware information about your PC, and so on. This information is used to tailor the ads in an effort to generate more advertising revenue. So, in short, this hijacker is not made to serve you but to advance the interests of its developers and for that reason you should remove it.

Getting rid of this hijacker is not a difficult task as you only have to delete Bazz Search from your list of Chrome extensions. You can do this by going to the browser’s settings. We have included a removal guide below, so make sure to consult it.
