FamilyFurther is another adware application that looks like a useful tool for families, but instead of providing you tips it displays pop-ups with commercial ads, sponsored links, etc. In fact, some time ago, we have encountered a very similar program that could be considered the adware’s clone, it was called MentorFamily. Both programs have almost identical appearances, and they display suspicious third-party content. It would be better to avoid these ads because you might land on unfamiliar and potentially harmful websites if you click them. In fact, if you do not want to have any content on your computer that could lead you to security issues, you should consider removing the adware. If you continue reading, we will tell you more about the dangers that are related to the application, and then if you choose to erase it, you can do that with the removal instructions that will be available below the article.
If you have FamilyFurther on your system, you should consider installing a legitimate security tool because there is a high chance that you have even more questionable software, such as adware, browser hijackers, potentially unwanted programs (PUP), etc. The reason we think it is possible is because our researchers have found that FamilyFurther might be downloaded when users see it as an offer on the search results that are modified by a browser hijacker. Also, if you download the application from familyfurther.com, the installer could be bundled with such PUPs as System Healer, browser hijackers as Sweet-page.com, and many others. Therefore, it would be a good idea to scan your system and clean up your PC from the software you do not need.
The most troublesome part of the program is the pop-ups because they could redirect you to third-party websites. You should have already noticed that every time you launch the program, it opens a new browser window on its own and loads sites with offers, such as eworkerjobs.org, pandaresearch.com, but it could be any other web page as it depends on the region where the user lives. Naturally, not all the pop-ups would redirect you to a website that contains viruses, Trojans, and other malware, but there is such possibility and, given that FamilyFurther is rather annoying, it does not seem worth to take this risk. Moreover, the program opens its window if you launch it, but just like MentorFamily it displays the application’s logo and loads the same websites called bestfamilyadvice.com. This site does not seem suspicious, so if you like the content on it, you could save the link and visit it using any browser of your choice.
As it appears, the adware can be deleted via Control Panel, and it should not leave any junk files. Thus, if you plan to remove it manually, you could use the instructions provided below, but if you are still troubled, do not hesitate to leave a comment here or reach us through social media. Furthermore, we would like to remind you that it is important to erase the other possible threats, too. You could either search for suspicious and unfamiliar programs on Control Panel or download an antimalware tool that would locate the other threats hiding in your system and help you delete them.
