FixPCOptimizer is not a tool that you want to use for your computers optimization. For starters, the application falls into the category of potentially unwanted program (PUP), and it does not say anything good about it. In most cases, users are deceived by PUPs, and when they realize that the software will not work as it should, they want to get rid of it. Likewise, our researchers learned that this optimizer does not work properly too, as it constantly crashes. The application is also uncontrollable because it manages to connect to the Internet without permission and launch itself with Windows. FixPCOptimizer is not a trustworthy tool you expected it to be, so before anything goes wrong, you should delete it from your computer. Although the removal part is a little bit complicated since you cannot do it via Control Panel, we will guide you through the process with the deletion instructions, which are provided below the article.

You may have downloaded the program from fixpcoptimizer.com, but it is also possible that the PUP could have been installed by a Trojan or other malicious software without your knowledge. Either way, it would be smart to scan your computer with a legitimate antimalware tool and check if there is any other infection. The application and its working manner is well known to us because the optimizer has a lot of clone programs, such as OnePCOptimizer, Win PC Optimizer, etc. As expected, it connects to the Internet without your consent and during this time, it sends some information about you to fixpcoptimizer.com server, e.g. your IP address, MAC address, date, and time. This activity was noticed after the program showed a fake error screen. The message says that “You may not be able to use this PC without completing the activation.” To acquire a genuine copy of the program you must click on “Update Now” or you can also call the given technical support telephone number, which is toll-free in the US and Canada.

Calling the support could be a mistake because it is probably just an attempt to scam you. For example, they could try to convince you to purchase the updated version that costs $19.99 and reveal your sensitive information. Also, the number might be not free as it says, so you could waste some amount of money on it too. Since the program crashes a lot and displays fake error notifications, its benefits are very doubtful. Usually, such PUPs cannot perform a deep system scan, so they might remove a few leftovers from uninstalled software, browser history, etc. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that FixPCOptimizer will be able to noticeably boost your PC or protect it from malware.

All things considered, this optimizer does not seem to be working as it promises. Probably, the main idea is to convince users that it is better to buy the premium version of the program, so it does not seem worth it to keep it installed. However, if you did not download the application on your own, you should consider a possibility that your computer could be infected with malware. In that case, you should remove the optimizer as soon as you can. Also, a full system scan with a trustworthy security tool is highly advisable. For manual FixPCOptimizer removal, you will have to find and erase its folder in the Program Files directory and the DataFile folder from the %allusersprofile% location. You will find more detailed instructions just a little below the text and if you have any questions about the PUP, write a comment here or reach us via social media.
