Fast-Player should help you create your own playlists by adding favorite videos and audio files found online or on your own PC. This tool appears to offer wonderful services, but our malware researchers have found that they are not that reliable. In fact, we identify Fast-Player as an advertisement-supported program, because it seems that its primary task is to inject ads. For as long as this program remains active on your PC, you will keep encountering online ads. Have you not seen any suspicious ads yet? There is no way of telling if they will not show up in the future, which is why we advise deleting Fast-Player anyway. In this report, we discuss several different techniques that can help you remove this adware.
Have you heard of Injekt before? This is a platform that is used for the creation of computer applications. As our research shows, this platform is often exploited by unreliable adware developers. We have already discussed the removal of Gravity Space, Positive Finds, Dragon Branch, and similar ad-supported programs that derive from this platform. Unsurprisingly, these programs are identical to Fast-Player, which is officially promoted at fast-player.com. This website does not offer a downloader, which is why most users of this ad-supported program are not even familiar with this site. It was found that this program is spread by third-party software distributors instead. Even though the files of this adware are always signed by Royal Raid – which might be introduced as the official publisher – the provider might change. If you accidentally acquire this program from a malicious distributor, you might have to remove malicious infections as well.
Depending on the distributor employed, Fast-Player could be offered along with potentially unwanted programs, other ad-supported programs, and clandestine infections. In the worst case scenario, malicious programs will be installed silently, without your notice. If this happens, malicious activity could be initiated without any of your notice. If you are lucky, you will not need to worry about catching and deleting silent threats, but you should not rely on luck. Instead, install an automated malware scanner that will help you clear things up. In fact, ignoring the fact that other threats could be installed is the worst thing you can do.
Even though Fast-Player might sound like a scary program, it is just an advertisement-supported program, and an easy one to remove, for that matter. If you are at least a little bit familiar with the removal of harmless Windows applications, you will delete Fast-Player easily. For your convenience, we have also created a removal guide that will guide you through the process. Of course, we do not recommend using the same instructions to locate and delete the programs that were installed with Fast-Player. These programs might be malicious, and, even if you are provided with the option to uninstall them, you might fail to locate and remove leftover components. If you want to, you can install a malware scanner to help you detect which files and programs you still need to delete after using the guide below.
