1stBrowser is a web browser based on the Chromium platform developed by Google. Our researchers have classified this browser as a potentially unwanted program that you might want to remove. The application has been developed for Windows and Android. However, we are only going to cover the release created for Windows. We are going to discuss the pros and the cons of having this browser. We do not insist that you remove it, because it is not an infection. However, there is no reason why you should keep it, for reasons we are going to talk about.

As mentioned, 1stBrowser is based on Chromium, a technology created by Google Inc. the browser has been created by SIEN S.A. If you want to learn more about the company, feel free to go to their website at Sien.com. One notable example of programming that this company has released is called Iminent, which is an adware application. And, as such, it is definitely unwanted, so please remove it if you have it installed. As far as distribution is concerned, the browser is distributed via the website 1stbrowser.com. Nevertheless, it can be bundled and distributed on freeware sharing websites.

Once you install 1stBrowser, it will be automatically set as the default web browser. If you were previously using Google Chrome, you might be a bit confused, because 1stBrowser looks exactly like Google Chrome. However, 1stBrowser is not an exact copy of Chrome, since the changes are buried deep within its coding. If you use this browser, you will notice that the amount of commercial advertisements has increased. The browser will track your browsing preferences and present you with tailored advertisements. So why not remove 1stBrowser? Google chrome is a much better choice, as it does not have the deficiencies that 1stBrowser has.

The fact that the browser is able to gather information about your browsing preferences is very disturbing. Of course it can only know so much about you, but, still, the developers might know what you have been searching for and your entire browsing history. Of course this kind of information will only be used for commercial and advertising purposes, but the fact is unpleasant.

We do not recommend using 1stBrowser, because there are far better alternatives that do not have the disadvantages that this browser has. It has been developed by a company that specializes in the development of ad-supported applications. 1stBrowser is able to show advertisements and gather information about you to provide you the most relevant ads.
