Is your computer locked with a message forcing you to pay money for illegal file sharing? If yes, Metropolitan Police Ukash Virus is the most probable agent in this situation, and even if you do not see this name on the message, take a look at the list of names, which could define your issue. If you do recognize any of these titles, you should rush to delete Metropolitan Police Ukash Virus right away.

The list of most notable ransomware viruses (distinguished by country):

Canada: Canadian Police Association virus, Canadian Security Intelligence Service virus.
USA: Federal Bureau of Investigation virus, FBI Moneypak.
Australia: Australian Federal Police virus.
Germany: GVU virus, Ihr Computer wurde gesperrt virus, GEMA virus, Bundespolizei virus.
Spain: Cuerpo Nacional de Policia virus, SGAE virus.
UK: PCeU virus, PRS for Music virus, Metropolitan Police virus.
The Netherlands: Buma Stemra virus, Nederlands Politie virus.

It has been found out that these malicious infections are downloaded into computers by such programs as Trojan:Win32/LockScreen.CI and Reveton.F, which will also need to be deleted from the computer. All dangerous viruses have been created using the same attack strategies; however, most of them target different European and North American countries, as well as Australia and those in Asia. This way schemers have much higher chances at fooling more computer users, who are likely to be shocked to find that access to their computers had been suspended by such law enforcement agencies as Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Metropolitan Police, FBI, Interpol, Nederlands Politie and such. Despite authentic logos and names used, these governmental organizations do not have anything in common with cyber criminals, and you should not pay any attention to such warnings:

Your computer has been locked.
Illegally downloaded music pieces (pirated) have been located on your computer.
By downloading, those music pieces were reproduced, thereby involving a criminal offense under Section 106 of the Copyright Act.

Whatever sum of money should be presented at the bottom of such fictitious warninga, pay no attention and continue with Metropolitan Police Ukash Virus removal. If you follow the schemers’ instructions and pay the alleged “fine”, your money will be wasted for no reason, sensitive data will be collected by third parties, and there is no guarantee that the virus will not regenerate, or will not expose your system’s security cracks for other malware. In such case, not only your administrative privileges could be removed, but also passwords, contacts, and other highly personal information. So, how can you delete Metropolitan Police Ukash Virus?

  1. WARNING.... I have just been infected with the latest version (according to the PC repair shop) of the Metropolitan Ukash Virus. As before it has locked my PC with the screen dump that prevents all other activity - the trouble is you cannot even boot the PC in any safe mode! Thus impossible to apply any cleaner or malware program. The PC shop have effectivley given up saying the infection is terminal (they have experienced and rectified previous versions of this virus.) Does anyone out there have a different view?

    • When Safe mode can not be loader you can do this:

      Follow these steps:

      1. Reboot your PC and start pressing F8 key on your keyboard.
      2. You should see Windows Advanced Startup menu.
      3. Use arrow keys and select “Safe Mode With Command Prompt” then press Enter.
      4. When Windows loads, you’ll see Command prompt Window.
      5. Type explorer.exe there and press Enter. This will show your Desktop.
      6. Click on Start, then choose Run, type rstrui and click OK button.
      7. This will open “System Restore” application to you. Please restore your computer’s settings to two or three days back when your computer was still not infected.
      8. When System Restore is finished, please restart your computer, and you should be able to see your Desktop now.

Then you just have to download Spyware remover and remove inactive infection files that can start up and any point.
