HidenGate may promise you anonymity, but in reality, the application might be unable to fulfill its promises or even worse do the opposite. To be more precise, reports say the software could track the user to insert various advertising content instead of hiding his traffic. One way or the other if you encounter this doubtful program we recommend not to take any chances with it. Our specialists say it is considered to be a potentially unwanted program (PUP). It does not mean it is malicious, but still, it shows it cannot be trusted either. Provided you do not want to keep suspicious software on your computer, we would recommend erasing HidenGate with no hesitation. This is why the removal instructions located below the article will explain how to deal with it. Of course, to get to know it better first, you should continue reading our report.

The first thing indicating HidenGate might be unreliable is a possibility it could be spread through bundled software installers, which means some users may install it without even realizing it. Naturally, if you do not want to receive PUPs or other potentially dangerous programs alike in the future, you should be more cautious when installing new applications. If the installer comes from an untrustworthy source, it is crucial to read all information on its installation wizard carefully, and to see more of it users should pick advanced or custom installation settings whenever possible. Needless to say, the safer choice would be not to download applications from torrent or other unreliable file-sharing web pages that might bundle suggested installers with various threats. Also, it would be a smart idea to acquire a reliable security tool as it could help you guard the system against potentially dangerous content too.

If you believe the PUP’s description, HidenGate is supposed to ensure data security and rapid data transmission or in other words your network anonymity. However, the research shows the application itself might track user’s browsing and gather information about his browsing habits to show various advertising content. It is possible the software’s creators could generate advertising revenue when users click such material. We believe this might be the real purpose of the program. Besides, we should warn you that if the PUP shows advertising content while you browse, it would be best to be extra careful with it as there might be no knowing where it comes from or if it can be trusted. In fact, what we believe would be safer is to eliminate HidenGate before anything goes wrong.

Users who do not want to keep this PUP on their systems have two choices. The first one is to remove it manually by deleting the application’s created files. To make this task simpler, our researchers have prepared detailed instructions located at the end of this text. The other way to get rid of HidenGate is to acquire a reliable security tool, scan the computer with it, and then click the displayed removal button to eliminate all detected threats or questionable content at the same time.
