Category: Browser Hijackers is a browser hijacker that will change your homepage and your search engine. The worst part is that it might show modified search results or gather your private information too. As it seems, the search engine works only on the Google Chrome browser, so other browser users are safe at the moment. Our researchers have also learned that the application might come bundled with a program called SOSODESK. Since the search engine looks highly suspicious, we would advise you to remove it from your computer. If you have no idea where to start, you can use the instructions below the text to guide you.

The most troublesome part of this browser hijacker is the fact that it can gather private information while you search the Internet. This is the statement we came across while reading the application’s Privacy Policy: “We may get information about you from other sources, such as social media like Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. When you click on our ads placed with them, they will provide us with information from your accounts there (including your first and last name, social media handle and email address) to enhance and personalize your use of this Site.” This means that the hijacker will gather information from your social media accounts by placing ads. However, this is only one of the few methods that could be used to collect your private data. Further in the Privacy Policy, it is stated that the application can gather information about you in various ways. Even though they claim that such data would be used to enhance your use of their site, there is no guarantee that your private information will not be used for cyber fraud, marketing purposes, etc..

The website is hosted on the IP address that is located in Arizona, but the company that developed it is based in Hong Kong. The company is called Bysenda Technology Limited, but there is not much information about it on the Internet, although we came across a Google Chrome forum topic with complaints about different software by this developer. Another fact that makes this search engine look unreliable is that it is spread bundled with other doubtful programs. For example, it could enter your computer with SOSODESK that falls under the category of potentially unwanted programs. It is possible that you downloaded it knowingly, as SOSODESK has an official website, but if you did not, you should remove the program and risk your privacy’s safety no more.

As for the removal part, it does not look very complicated, once you determine whether SOSODESK is installed on your computer. If you locate it in your Control Panel, you can remove it with the uninstall option. In case you do not have the mentioned program you should remove simply by removing its extension from Google Chrome. Also, you could get rid of both applications with an antimalware tool. Once you install it, you can scan your computer, and it will find all the threats that might be on your system. Finally, when the scanning part is over you can erase all the threats at once with one click of a button. If you still have any questions related to the browser hijacker or its removal, do not hesitate to reach us via social media or leave us a comment below.
