It can be argued that the developer should take responsibility for any misconduct on the part of its clients, because it is the company that provided unreliable people with the means to advertise. These shady advertisements can come in various shapes and forms, because the JustPlugIt platform is quite versatile. The promotions can manifest in the form of coupons, banners, hyperlinks, search-related ads, and so on.

We are also concerned with the fact that MetroCleaner is capable of collecting non-personally identifiable advertisements, such as “Your IP address, domain names, referring website addresses, and some online web browsing activity to deliver more relevant advertising.” Personal information is only collected if you provide it yourself. Non-personal information may also be shared with third-parties to enable their affiliates to deliver targeted ads and boost their revenue. However, your personal information may end up in the wrong hands, because in the event of a merger, acquisition or bankruptcy everything all of the company’s assets can be transferred.

In conclusion, MetroCleaner is just an adware program designed to deliver targeted advertisements that are enabled trough information collecting. The advertisements come in various different forms and are bound to cause you at least some inconvenience. However, since the ads are supplied by unknown entities, they cannot be trusted.
