SmitFraud.G Threat Level: SmitFraud.G is a Pest

SmitFraud.G is a trojan you’ll see advertised by rogue anti-spyware programs, like VirusProtect Pro. Rogue — or fake — antispyware programs will popup false critical system error messages saying something like:

“Your computer was hijacked by SmitFraud.GIt’s dangerous for your system, some flies can be lost and your browser can be slow!
Click OK to download the antispyware program to clean your computer! (Recommended)”

SmitFraud.G isn’t really what you’re infected with — you’re infected with a fake anti-spyware program that’s popping up fake security alerts to scare you into buying the fake anti-spyware.

Unless you like getting ripped off, do not buy the software telling you you’re infected with SmitFraud.G.
