Safety Center screenshot Safety Center is fake security software that offers you quite a deal — instead of just getting a faux antivirus app, you also get scamware posing as privacy protection, a firewall, and a registry scanner. Besides pimping itself as a suite of software, Safety Center runs the usual scam: Safety Center installs on your computer through a Trojan, then launches spoof system scans. Safety Center’s results? You’re infected with imaginary badware that you need to remove — and Safety Center will do it for you. Just pay up. You don’t want to waste your money? Smart move, but now Safety Center will drown your screen in Safety Center popups and fake system alerts. These Safety Center pop-up ads read:

“Warning! Running trial version! The security of your computer has been compromised! Now running the trial version of the software! Click here to purchase the full version of the software and get full protection for your PC!”
“We are sorry but your query looks similar to requests from a computer infected by viruses or spyware applications. To protect our users, we can’t proceed with your request at the moment. We will restore your access as quickly as possible, so try again later. Meanwhile, if you suspect that your computer or network has been infected, you might want to run a virus checker or spyware remover to make sure that your system is free of viruses and other malicious software.”

If you click any of these Safety Center alerts, you’ll be tricked into blowing dough on this scamware.

Let me save you some time, sanity, and dough, and show you how to remove Safety Center.
