SpywareBot is another rogue anti-spyware application, only this one is riding on the brand coattails of legit anti-spyware SpyBot Search & Destroy. You know, it’s like a Folex versus Rolex.
You might have caught SpywareBot from a trojan, or maybe you downloaded SpywareBot thinking it was SpyBot. How do you know if you have SpywareBot? Every time you boot up, a “security” scan launches and lies to you that you’re infected with an insane amount of spyware. If you click these popups, you’re taken to a site to buy the “full” version of SpywareBot.
