XP-Guard 2.1 was a problem on my laptop. I checked all the things you said and deleted them and some was not there from the mult scanners i ran but it was still coming up.
I found a file called MPKTNPOH.EXE it had the XP-Guard icon on it so i wanted to get rid of it but it would not delete because XP-Guard was already up and "in use". So i used and old trick i rename the file and used .TXT instead of .EXE on the end. Shutdown and come back up and then delete the file... Success... at last ... NETOVERLORD Wins again ...
