I tried this and even in safe mode w/ networking I still had the XLG take over before windows could boot. And it wont let windows continue to boot up unless it runs its course, (I am assuming it will let it boot up, I have been trying everything so it won't complete the "scan" on my PC). but nothing seems to work. so do I just let it go through the scan prcess then try and figure out how to remove it? I have some photos I really want to back up before I have to deal with this issue.

Steve, when you boot your computer, hold down F8 and when the menu comes up, select "safe mode with networking". This will stop XLG Privacy from starting. If you are able, update your antivirus/antispyware and do a scan. Tell us how you get on.

Does not address the situation where XLG Privacy takes over immediately after logging into Windows. I've killed the task but still cannot get to Windows. Am able to run some applications.
