Vundo is a real pain, my computer got infected by an e-mail attachment from a trusted source and now my machine is out of business causing me to lose a lot of time and money for my company! I often wonder why any website that was allowing this kind of code to infect machines everywhere to not be shut down and the owners of said site to be booked in the gray bar hotel?!?!?! I'm also curious as to why my company forks over big money to the anit-virus company and the products never work, we discover that they are useless against many things with situations just like this. I ask you, is it poossible that the anti-virus companies and geeks that are so ugly that no matter how much money they have will never get laid, making and releasing these viruses in an attempt to instill fear in you to make you buy more of their crap?!?!?! How come Obama is launching an investigation into the practices of these criminals and finding a way to put an end to these cyber type Bonnie and Clyde's???? Usually no one will do nothing about it if the "Officials" in charge are getting paid to not do anything about it. I guess it's time to move to open source.

Hey everyone, I have a virus called Vund!o - that's what McAfee calls it - every single time I turn my laptop on I get 3 error messages followed by 3 McAfee alerts, the alerts say it has found a virus and it has been blocked and removed, the error messages say something about DLL files being missing.
McAfee clearly cannot get rid of it, I have tried scanning and nothing comes up.
My laptop is new I got it for christmas and now runs so slowly, it's driving me insane! Not only that but when I looked up the virus I was told it relays personal information to a 3rd party :/

I am so confused and stupidly didn't make any recovery DVD's when I was asked to, so my plan to wipe it all and start over is out the window, I'm really stuck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks.

I am trying out malwarebytes and its great fun to see the symantec box continually popping up to tell me that I have a nice Vundo virus, so far I have 45 objects infected. Wish me luck?
I do hope their tiny weenies fall off and shrivel. They have cost this student a lot of time and no sleep, I have kids and its pretty uncool to make my kids suffer because I cant get my work done.
Really annoys me. I hope these little programmers parents find out what kind of children they created, they should be ashamed.

Malwarebytes.org Anti-Malware is the best thing I've found to remove this pest. I've found most AV programs are detecting parts of it and quarantining most of the other things its downloading, but you have to get rid of every piece of ths insidious virus. Anti-Malware has been working for me for a long time now.

To the guy(s) who developed Vundo, I hope women laugh at your weenies when they see how small they are.

I've been fighting with vundo for a couple days now...started with superanitspyware...malwarebytes...ccleaner....spybot search and destroy (although with spybot, it manages to find a way to shut it down)...I am currently running an avast boot scan after the latest definitions download to see if it is of any assistance...once done with that, i'm not sure where i will go....oh, i've also run the vundo fix (to no avail), combofix (also to no avail) and ran hijackthis...it's still hanging on....any other suggestions?
