I have completed various searches on my drive c: for VirusRemover2008 and VRM2008 but found nothing. But I keep getting directed to the VirusRemover2008 web site which I immediately "kill".

How can I stop VirusRemover2008 directing me to their web site ?

Regards

I was updating Roboform (yes I know I'm lazy) and the VirusRemover 2008 somehow became installed on my machine. It gives you hundreds of popups per hour. I have hunted for a way to remove it. It does not show up in the windows software add/remove either. Not even Total Uninstall could find it to remove it. I am hoping this tool will be able to do it. I have had to just turn off the infected laptop and use another one to find this. It keeps saying Microsoft is a potential threat. Yeah it is a threat to the crap that decided to download on my machine.

I have run into virusremover 2008 many times in the last couple of months. The pctools software did a decent job of removing it also as of late the symantec endpoint will take it right off.
