PubHotspot might be the reason why you see lots of suspicious advertising content lately. Apparently, the application is classified as adware, and it may show users various advertisements from its third-party partners. Our researchers noticed that some of the displayed ads might advertise websites or content, which could be potentially malicious, so if you happen to interact with it, there is a chance you could accidentally put your system at risk. Provided you do not want to take such chances, we encourage you to eliminate PubHotspot before its presence causes you trouble. Removing the adware manually is not as difficult as it might look like, so users who feel up to the task could slide below the article and use the provided instructions. Of course, if you want to know other details related to the program, you should read the report first.

The application is most likely spread through unreliable software installers that might be bundled not only with PubHotspot but also other suspicious applications. Usually, users get such setup files while visiting file-sharing web pages or clicking doubtful ads. Consequently, if you do not want to download adware or other threats in the future, we would recommend paying more attention to the programs you choose and their installation process. Instead of clicking “OK” or “Next” without reading any terms, users should review all conditions on the setup wizard carefully. If there are any suggestions that you do not need, it would be wise to deselect them so they would not get installed automatically.

Now that you know how the adware might have appeared on the system, you should learn more about its working manner. The application should allow users to create Wi-Fi hotspots. Besides the mentioned function the tool could be able to open your Internet Explorer too. This might happen regularly or from time to time and without any permission. The web pages PubHotspot may open should belong to its third-party partners. During the research, we noticed that some of the loaded sites could suggest installing possibly fake software updates or potentially malicious programs. Also, some of the ads may encourage users to participate in fake lotteries, suspicious surveys, etc. Such web pages could ask you to submit your personal information; given their questionable reliability, we would advise you to be extra cautious and not to reveal any sensitive data.

All things considered, the adware does not seem like a program you could trust. It might give you the features it promises, but as we mentioned earlier, it may introduce you to potentially malicious content, which could endanger the computer. Therefore, we advise you not to risk the system’s safety and get rid of PubHotspot at once. Experienced users could erase the application manually as it is shown in the instructions placed below. If you think this task might be too complicated, you can get a reliable removal tool instead. Set it to scan the system as soon as it is ready to use. Wait till the scanning process is finished and click the deletion button to eliminate all detected threats at the same time. If there are any other questions about the adware, you could leave a comment below or write us via social media.
