Sadly charlemont, it's a never ending cycle. Although they will never completely disappear, the best way to slow down their creation is to educate people about malware scams. If people stop falling for them, the Revenue dries up and no longer profitable to keep updating them. Microsoft has tried to combat Malware with the UAC in Windows Vista, which makes it harder for malware to install. Unfortunetly it annoys people and they turn it off.

The flood of these rogue applications seem unstoppable. I wonder if Microsoft will do anything to provide some kind of patching to Windows XP users because millions of PC owners suffer from this type of malware. Internet threats moved onto the next level, but protection is lagging. Norton and McAfee, most popular antivirus programs, are loosing the trojan war while web criminals become smarter at creating malware.

Omg. I got rid of the files but when I open a webpage, it goes straight to that stupid blank page that talks about using the AntiVirus2009. I deleted the files...but what to do about this problem of it still blocking my websites?

This is utterly ridiculous...
