EZbrowsing Search is a completely useless yet potentially risky browser extension that can appear in your Google Chrome browser even if you have not installed it knowingly. This tool is supposed to make your web search experience easier and faster; however, our tests indicate that it may also expose you to potentially unsafe third-party ads and links as well. These contents could pose a threat to your system security if you were to engage with them. We have labeled this threat sources as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) since we have not found proof of direct danger or malicious activities. This PUP is not a lonely child of a programming team, unfortunately it has two immediate siblings, New Browse and Fast Browsing. But this is not all. This family seems to be way bigger, containing at least two dozen of similar and identical PUPs, including FilmsPro Search Extension and Search By myMusic Extension. If you do not want to risk exposure to questionable web content and get infected as a result or scammed online, we suggest that you remove EZbrowsing Search right now.

First of all, this PUP can be installed officially by using its promotional page, ezbrowsing.com, where two other, previously mentioned, tools are also promoted. This is a very simple page, similar to half a dozen we have seen so far from this family (e.g., playmediacenter.com). You can easily install this and the other tools as well if you click on the "Add to Chrome" button. We advise you to always read the pop-up window carefully whenever you are installing such an extension. This pop-up serves like a gateway to potential infections and the exposure to questionable web content. Agreeing to the permissions this pop-up shows you is a big mistake in cases when you are dealing with a questionable tool.

Another official channel for you to install this useless PUP is the Chrome web store, chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ezbrowsing-search/iddliihhbcncedkejmfceijfbpoieggn. It is important for us to mention that after you believe that you have installed this tool, you get redirected to a page like games.playzonenow.com/wim/lp/offer/special.php?t=gomovix&ref=unknown&ct=ye61strtrfnrml.118 where you are tricked into believing that your installation is not yet completed, only 60% done. This is an obnoxious way to push you to install another useless tool since you are told to do so in order to finish installation. We believe that this type of promotion should not be tolerated when it comes to installing potentially harmful programs. This is the first reason why we suggest that you delete EZbrowsing Search from your browser.

What is even worse though, this PUP can be found in freeware bundles spread by suspicious P2P websites (torrent and freeware) and unsafe third-party ads (banner and pop-ups). In order to avoid dropping such a bundle onto your machine, you should stay away from such sites and any suspicious page for that matter as well as stop clicking on third-party ads. You could also be introduced to dangerous third-party ads if your computer is infected with adware, for example. This is why we recommend that you use a reliable online malware scanner right after you delete EZbrowsing Search.

This annoying PUP promotes a questionable website and search engine as well. It can sneak onto your system and change your default search settings but somehow it also modifies your homepage and new tab settings so that the cursor will be focused on your address bar where you can directly search the web using the new default engine, media.eanswers.com. If you use this search engine, you can end up on manipulated Yahoo search results pages where you cannot be sure which content you can actually trust. This PUP can inject its affiliated ads and links leading to potentially unreliable websites. You may also open new tabs with malicious pages and get scammed by cyber criminals.

Another feature of this PUP is its button in your browser taskbar. If you click this button, a pop-up window is displayed where you can search or choose from offered thumbnail links. This pop-up promotes a questionable online movie-related website, ezb.gomovix.com. If you move the mouse over these thumbnails, you are provided with a possibility to pick randomly from a certain genre by pressing the "Random Pick" button that appears. If you type "s" in your address bar and press the Tab key on your keyboard, you can use the same search on this site. Please note that this movie site can display questionable ads and may not show you any movies or videos online. We recommend that you remove EZbrowsing Search as soon as possible.

If you want to get rid of this annoying PUP right away, you can use our instructions below. Please remember that this may not be enough to completely clean your PC. If you would like to feel secure while using your computer, we suggest that you employ a reliable anti-malware program, such as SpyHunter. Please also note that just because you install such security software, it is still essential for you to keep all your programs, including SpyHunter, up-to-date for best results.
