ContentPush is a rather annoying intrusive application that promotes content of a particular website. We did not find anything that would suggest that it is malicious, so we have categorized it as a potentially unwanted program and advise that you remove it if you find it undesirable. This program comes bundled, so you might get it while installing a software bundle. Furthermore, this program runs in the background constantly as it is set to run on system boot up. Therefore, in this article, we will show you how to terminate its process and get rid of it for good because its uninstaller does not always work. So let us begin our analysis with its origins and distribution.

From the very outset, we run into a problem because there is no information about the company that developed it. It is pretty common for developers of potentially unwanted programs not to sign their products digitally in order to avoid flak from its user base for intrusive behavior and whatnot. This also seems to be the case with this particular application since it does not provide any information about its origins and, therefore, it is reasonable to regard it as an unreliable application. Also, we found that this program comes bundled with freeware and put up for download on freeware hosting websites. The installers used for these bundles may hide ContentPush’s presence, so if you want to avoid getting this or any other undesirable application, remember always to opt for advanced installation settings. You should uncheck its respective checkbox and continue with the installation as normal.

ContentPush has very few analogous applications because its primary function is to promote articles and other content from a website called Revcontent.com. It is a legitimate site, and it serves as a content recommendation website. So it promotes other websites, and yet all of them appear to be safe as well, so it is highly unlikely that this program via its promoted website could subject you to malicious content. Still, we did not classify this program as potentially unwanted for nothing.

Testing has shown that ContentPush is an intrusive application that promotes its content by rendering a window on the right side of the desktop. This window takes up a significant portion of your computer’s screen. This program is set to run on system startup, and it will cycle its promoted content throughout your computing session. It has a close button, but it is just a temporary fix since it will open the window again after a short period. Nevertheless, there is an easy solution. You can launch Task Manager and End ContentPush’s process. However, this is a temporary fix since the program will start again after you restart your PC. Therefore, if cannot stand its annoying and intrusive promotions, we suggest that you remove if permanently. However, you can encounter problems here as well since its uninstaller often does not work and leaves all files intact. Therefore, you have to delete them manually.

We hope that you found this short description useful. Even though ContentPush is not a malicious application its usefulness is doubtful. Moreover, it is annoying because it is set to take up a significant portion of your desktop to show various promotions. We recommend that you run its uninstaller from Control Panel, but if you continue to see its promotional window, then you have to terminate its process via Task Manager and delete its files from is respective locations. Please consult the guide below for more information.

Terminate the process via Task Manager

  1. To open the Task Manager, hold down Ctrl+Shift+Esc keys.
