Understanding Adware.SA

If you’re infected with Adware.SA, you should know what you’re fighting. I’ll explain some definitions related to Adware.SA.

Adware.SA May Be Adware

Adware is software designed to promote advertisements. Often, free utilities may install hidden adware, sometimes to earn money for the author to recover development costs. While adware is not always malicious, it can track your Internet activity and send this and other personal information from your computer to advertisers. When advertisers get this information, you may be a target for pop-up/pop-under advertisements, web browser toolbars, and spam.

Adware.SA May Be a Dialer

Dialers are malware that can change and somewhat control your modem’s dialup connection. Like other malware and spyware, you may unknowingly download a dialer when it comes bundled with free software. Dialers typically change your modem from dialing into the web through your local provider to connecting to the web through a very expensive international or 900 telephone number. Creators of dialers typically collect some of the money made from when you connect to this pricey, alternative number.
