Virtumundo — AKA Virtumonde — is adware that launches annoying popup ads on your PC. Virtumundo popups pimp fake anti-spyware like SysDefender, WinFixer, and ErrorSafe. Virtumundo can also act as a keylogger, and record every keystroke you type, save this information as a DLL file (virtumundo.DLL, perhaps?), and send it to a parent site, putting your personal and financial information at risk.

Virtumundo is also known as Virtumonde.C, and “major rip-off.”

“Warning! Spyware Detected on Your Computer!” Popup is a fake security alert from fake antispyware. “Warning! Spyware Detected on Your Computer!” Popup popups could read:

“Warning! Spyware detected on your computer! Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer”

This “Warning! Spyware Detected on Your Computer!” Popup is supposed to scare you into buying the fake antispyware. You may have caught this “Warning! Spyware Detected on Your Computer!” Popup by a drive-by download, or getting tricked into downloading a fake video codec.
